Awami League protest march in Ishwarganj

Ishwarganj (Mymensingh) Correspondent: Upazila Awami League held a protest march and protest meeting in Ishwarganj of Mymensingh on August 21, 2004, on the orders of Tarek Zia, against the brutal grenade attack to kill Bangabandhu’s daughter, Deshratna Sheikh Hasina, and the killing of 24 leaders and activists, including female Awami League leader IV Rahman.

On Monday afternoon, the protest march and protest meeting was organized by the initiative of Ishwarganj Upazila Awami League and its affiliated organizations.The protest march left the party office of the Upazila Awami League and after walking through various roads of the city, went to the Ishwarganj Muktijoddha memorial and ended in a protest meeting.

On the other hand, a protest march led by Mymensingh District Jubo League member and former president of Ishwarganj Upazila Chhatra League Mahbubur Rahman Mahbub came out from Hospital Road around 11:30 am. The procession went around the main main road of Ishwarganj town and went in front of the party office and joined the party program of Upazila Awami League.

Upazila Awami League Vice President Rafiqul Islam VP, General Secretary Safir Uddin Ahmed, Joint General Secretary AKM Harun Or Rashid, Safayet Hossain Bhuia, Organizing Secretary Abdul Jalil Mondal, Masud Hasan Turna, Joint Secretary Ruhul addressed the protest meeting after the rally. Amin Rahul, Youth and Sports Secretary Shahidul Islam Masud, District Jubo League member and former president of Ishwarganj Upazila Chhatra League Mahbubur Rahman, Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad and former president of Upazila Chhatra League AKM Farid Ullah Farid, Upazila Secchasebak League conference preparation committee convener Saiful Islam and others.
